it’s not a hokey sense of nature. but you really do feel small when surrounded by trees that have been growing forever. without the need to personify them, it is difficult not to be awestruck by the immensity of years and life.
i think being a city girl (slash suburbs, katipunan and la vista have deceptively tall trees) makes you forget and feel bigger than what you truly are. but when faced with trees like this, there is no question. they just are.
